In 2013 Davin was selected to lead the company as CEO by his partners. To date, he has hired and trained 220 members of front- and back-of-house teams. Through staff training and menu planning, the team increased average cover per person by ~30%. In 2015, he crafted an executive developmental rotational program with the purpose of management training and guided 14 employees through the program. To acquire land and build the restaurant he raised equity capital and debt financing. In the financial management of the business, he created financial models and conducted cost analysis to support procurement and reduce food costs. These initiatives led to a 6% decrease in food costs and a reduction of average days of inventory on hand from 9.7 days to 4.4 days, keeping food freshest for the clientele. He led negotiations with suppliers for all major purposes, and through inventory and labor management the company was able to keep prime cost at 57%.He has always believed in giving back to the community. Annually, the restaurant provided $15,000 in free food to low-income members of the local community and hosted a local community Texas Slam Fishing benefit to raise funds for safe driving.Under his watch, Steve's Landing has received ratings of 4.5 across all major review platforms, and has been featured in HGTV Beach Home Bargain Hunts and HGTV Million Dollar Lottery Home. He is proud of his team’s ability to manage crises and adapt quickly in different market conditions such as reopening after multiple storms and transitioning to different business models during the Covid-19 pandemic.
