In collaboration with my wife Kathleen Horner, illustrator and photographer, we have produced a book of stories about a dynasty of cats, originating with U Phat Khat of medieval Siam. Each of these cats, empowered by a hat of power known as the Purple Cone, becomes both companion and facilitator to some of the world's greatest scientists - mainly the astronomers. From the middle ages up to the present, these cats are able to prompt their human caretakers into some of the breakthrough discoveries in the history of science.

Some years ago I was a scribbler. I wrote poetry and short fiction and a novel. Some poems and stories and poems found publication. I also worked as a freelance journalist and newsletter editor (an ancient form of blogging). For the past five years this writing fire has been reignited. It's a different world than it was 20-30 years ago. Other than "The Tales of Astro Cat" my major project has been "The Palmetto: Adventures with the Southern Underground" and I have self-published Part One. Now I'm returning to short stories, though I have at least two other book length projects planned.

The Lime Daddies are a two man band, David Boles and Dave Horner, who play a variety of beach music, reggae, calypso, Jimmy Buffett, plus a number of pop favorites. They are perfect for casual events, dances, pool parties, and themed parties.
