Director Of Arts Education
CurrentDirecting the SmartARTS program housed at the TD Center for Arts Integration which includes (1) fundraising and grant-writing to secure 250,000+ annually, (2) managing a 250,000+ budget including managing and mentoring 25 artists working across 40 schools in partnership with 100 GCSD teachers, and (3) directing a week-long training institute each July with four education tracks at the Fine Arts Center in partnership with Greenville County Schools. Her role ranges from creating annual goals and areas of focus to data collection and payroll.During the pandemic, we pivoted our in-person training to zoom, managed our artists' unemployment between March 2020-August 2020, and positioned our program to work with the Greenville County Cares Act emergency childcare program for the children of essential workers between September 2020 and February 2021. In February 2021, we resumed our work both virtually and in-person in Greenville County Schools. In addition, we implemented cost-saving measures in our program to protect against possible downturns in giving post-pandemic. However, as we were able to continue to serve our constituents seamlessly, our fundraising met its targets, allowing us to serve more teachers going forward post-pandemic. In 2021, TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation committed 200,000 over five years to continue the TD Center for Arts Integration first established in 2016.In 2018, The TD Center for Arts Integration set the goal of having teaching artists who identify as Black, Indigenous or people of color to make up at least 30% of our teaching artist roster. As of 2022, over 40% of our teaching artist roster identify as Black, Indigenous or people of color. We are especially proud of the work we have done to mentor emerging minority artists in their first five years of work, including offering local professional development throughout the year, as well as access to regional and national arts-based professional development.
