Dawn has considerable skills in editing scientific literature and producing graphics to illustrate scientific concepts. Dawn has been involved in evaluation of research output since in the 1990s, from the NERC Output and Performance measures through to currently administering the Researchfish reporting process to UKRI for PML. This has led to an interest in the impact and benefit derived from research and Dawn recently worked on writing impact case studies for the NERC REF exercise, she has worked on developing an impact strategy to proactively encourage and promote an impact-driven culture throughout the organisation. Co-ordination and data management for the GLOBEC programme including: editing and production of GLOBEC publications, including the GLOBEC International Newsletter and Report Series; Technical editor (including editing text, references and figure production) for GLOBEC books including Marine Ecosystems and Global Change, Oxford University Press 2010; and organisation of GLOBEC meetings and international symposia, including editing and production of abstracts books.

Co-ordination of the Atlantic Meridional Transect project which included maintenance and upgrade of AMT webpages (www.amt-uk.org); production and editing of AMT publications, including journal special issues, the AMT Newsletter and cruise reports; and organising and attending AMT Scientific Steering Committee meetings, cruise planning and data workshops.

Provision of an information service for research staff, visitors and external customers including: development of computerised library systems, including design and maintenance of the library’s webpages and database design and development; indexing scientific publications; collection, collation and analysis of Output and Performance Measures for review and audit purposes. Citation analyses and training research staff in the use of bibliographic software and on-line databases.
