District Nursing Specialist Practice BSc (Hons) degree(2:1) 1996Worked in the community setting in a variety of posts including managerial and teaching posts. 3 further post grad certs; Independent/ Supplementary prescribing, PGCE in nursing and midwifery education and Strategic Workforce Planning. MSc in Developing Practice in Healthcare in 2016(distinction), winning the Ulster University Mona Grey award for excellence in post graduate research.Winner of the Brownlee Silverdale Leadership award at the RCN in June 2023 and recognised by the Northern Ireland Practice Education Council for Nursing and Midwifery in October 2023 for work that contributed to improving professional standards for nurses and midwives. I have worked in the field of education and workforce, as a Practice Education Facilitator for 3 years, a Coordinator for 2 years, a Head of Service and 5 years as Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Workforce. I currently am Interim Executive Director Nursing,Midwifery, Allied Health Professionals,Functional Support Services and Infection Prevention Control.
