I wrote full-time for styleXstyle.com, an online guide to all things stylish (Fashion, Beauty, Travel and Food) for Singaporean Millennials. And because the daily webzine functions like a startup business, I was the only full-time writer employed, and the de facto editor in charge of one of Mediacorp’s most successful fashion brands to date. I planned and executed original content ideas across video, text and interactive digital content for the webzine in a timely and responsive manner. I was also in charge of styleXstyle's successful switch to SEO-driven content, and my optimisation efforts saw a significant increase in the site's organic traffic within three months. Further, I also had the privilege of sourcing for and managing a group of freelance writers for styleXstyle. I negotiated fees according to the editorial budget, commissioned features and columns according to agreed schedules, and edited copy on delivery to comply with brand tone and editorial guidelines. Feedback was provided to contributors when features need reworking or developing.My time with styleXstyle has also allowed me to develop the valuable ability of switching seamlessly between my main editorial responsibilities and a whole lot of other stuff: ad copywriting, pitching, marketing, content production, campaign conceptualisation and management, social media strategy and more. The experience has made me comfortable with handling responsibilities beyond my job scope, as well as working under pressure and tight deadlines. No two days were the same for me, and I loved it.
