As the IO&T Planner, I serve as the Defense Health Agency-Facility Enterprise (DHA-FE) expert for the planning and execution of IO&T projects and programs, specifically related to: transition, furniture, furnishings, medical equipment, casework, artwork, signage, (aka “FFE”) and facility related control systems (sometimes referred to as “low voltage systems” or “communications and electronic security systems." Healthcare Administration - last served as Chief, Healthcare Technology at AFMOA/SGAL located at Ft Detrick, MD. Responsible for the strategic development, planning, budgeting and requirements analysis for $1.4B biomedical equipment program for the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS). Responsible for 17 Active Duty members, two civilian members, and 15 contractor personnel. My primary duties included oversight of ordering, receiving, and maintaining $5.9M worth of medical supplies and equipment, as well as 31 personal and non-personal service contracts. I provided oversight for our vehicle fleet, maintenance activities for 1,300 items, and facility management/environmental safety for 14 structures/127,000 sq ft. I also served as the Medical Support Squadron Operations Officer and as Medical Control Center team chief.

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan

Had the honor of serving as the Medical Logistics OIC then the Medical Logistics Flight Commander at Craig Joint Theater Hospital in Bagram, Afghanistan. Led 21 member deployed flight in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Managed medical logistics for largest/busiest Level I trauma hospital in the East Region of Afghanistan. Consultant for patient movement item working group, supporting $30M program and in-air care for over 4,000 wounded warriors. Led facility expansion during largest single casualty event at Craig Joint Theater Hospital in 10 years. Expanded facility from 41 beds to 85 beds within two hours, accommodating influx of 83 patients. Led delivery of $4.5M magnetic resonance imaging unit, supporting the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s initiative for evaluation of mild traumatic brain injury suffered during combat operations. Responsible for 34,000 item equipment inventory worth $450,000.

Completed a four semester, one year, sixty-credit didactic experience followed by a twelve-month residency program. Contributed to first-ever joint service marketing plan for San Antonio Military Health System; numerous recommendations were accepted and implemented. Performed an analysis for recapture of OB/GYN services at Womack Army Medical Center, North Carolina. Found a potential saving of $1.2-$5.4M which prompted an in-depth analysis by the facility. Elected by peers to serve as ACHE Student Chapter Vice President. Inducted into the Upsilon Phi Delta national honor society. Performed as GPM for DoD's largest treatment and referral squadron for neonatal and pediatric intensive care, the AF's largest pediatric inpatient unit, the DoD's only Birthing Center averaging over 2.1K deliveries per year, the AF's largest maternal-child outpatient clinics and the AFMS’s largest behavioral health squadron. Business manager supporting high quality, accessible, cost effective health services in the AF’s largest Mental Health (MH) squadron. Responsible for assessing clinical business activities with emphasis on business plan performance and Relative Value Units (RVU). Supported nine outpatient clinics, one inpatient ward, 114+ professional staff/residents/fellows. Participated in budgeting, scheduling, logistics, strategic planning, and patient satisfaction initiatives for MH services. Created a business case analysis, regarding special interest inpatients, for inpatient psychology; advised squadron commander; cost of $184K was averted. Supported 535 medical, nursing, and support staff. Led squadron’s $6.7M annual budget, reviews and approves all TDY, supply, equipment, and space requests. Supported 406 medical, nursing, and support staff for 58 bed facility. Ensured 250+ CENTCOM reports were accurately and consistently completed on a daily basis. Generated 120 daily briefings and 350 Headquarters summaries. Operated as security liaison for elite service unit. Managed facility, grounds, and operations for entire hospital as representative of the commander during his off duty hours.

Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Afb, Tx

Managed the largest Air Force hospital medical equipment inventory valuing over $125M. Responsible for maintaining equipment management records and transaction in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support system. Coordinated with MAJCOM, Air Force Medical Support Agency, and various contracting offices in the submission, tracking and purchase of equipment packages. Led Facility Management (FM) operations support at AF’s largest medical center consisting of 67 buildings covering 2M square feet valued at $410M. Oversaw processing of 2,700 Civil Engineering work orders worth over $142M in facility maintenance and repair projects. Wing’s Environment of Care recorder and FM program manager. Also served as FM Readiness Team Chief.

Installed, modified, troubleshot, maintained, tested, calibrated, adjusted, overhauled, repaired and evaluated a wide variety of medical, laboratory, and dental equipment for replacement. Analyzed layout drawings, technical specifications, schematics and building diagrams. Provided technical assistance to resolve or prevent equipment operational and performance problems. Team leader for Y2K Project in supervisor's absence; managed 3 databases; reported Y2K status to the Air Force Medical Logistics Office and Health Affairs.
