Managing and Designing Land Development Projects and Water Resource Projects

Managed land development and public works projects throughout Southern California for Top 200 ENR civil engineering firm. Brought numerous projects to the firm utilizing contacts gained during my career, as well as contacts gained through networking and from previous projects. Managed finances, interviewed and assisted in hiring administrative as well as engineering staff. Made technical design decisions and managed schedules for in house projects. Projects included large master plan projects, aviation (four different airports), water systems, commercial, industrial and public works projects. Handled utility and grading design, entitlement work and project reports.

Brought in 50% of firms revenue and reported directly to the Company President. Upon bringing new business to the firm, was responsible for handling land development and design projects. Successfully managed numerous contracts and during the largest building growth period, managed 12 projects concurrently, and continued to actively network and accumulate contacts within the engineering and government arenas. Assignments included large master planned developments, commercial centers, an OSHPD hospital, schools, and industrial/mixed use parks. Designs included due diligence reports, city council presentations, tentative maps, full engineering design and agency coordination.

As supervisor, managed projects by developers for new water systems. This included plan checks, scheduling, filed inspections and budget plans. Working for the highest growth district, managed over 60 projects concurrently. Promoted to Supervisor and transferred to Los Angeles division where I managed a staff of 40 employees over three districts. Tasks included annual district budgeting, emergency repair management, system planning, coordination with other agencies, general public and project management tasks which included installation of new wells and reservoirs.
