The key priorities will be information synthesis of primary and secondary data across sectors relevant to child wellbeing to enable effective policy engagement.The Accelerator will have five functions, namely to:• Inform – develop a compelling picture of the national state of response to priority child outcomes, linking together outcomes, service delivery and budget data. • Communicate – Implement a public communication campaign in support of the programme of action, aimed at driving demand for key services and enabling parents to better respond to their children’s developmental needs, within their available resources.• Fill the gaps in service delivery - Design, develop and support implementation of new programmes for early language development and cognitive stimulation, critical thinking and problem solving, care & support of children in and after schools, prevention of, and inclusion of children with, disability. • Build synergy - Identify and seize key opportunities for synergy between government and non-government role-players and between government departments (e.g. in implementing the national nutrition strategy).• Mobilise resources – Leverage both public and private resources in support of the NPAC (funding, in-kind support, leverage of commercial platforms e.g. for distribution)

Working with the National Department of Health and implementing partners to ensure effective functioning of the National Contact Centre for Covid-19, including the vaccination programme, and the expansion of services it provides to priority health issues.

The main areas of work include data management and analysis of public health information for the District Health Barometer, South African Health Review and related projects. This ranges from work in Excel, various databases, GIS, data visualisation and the development and update of a web-based health indicators repository.In previous years I was also involved in the developed of the web site, email communication lists, an email communication network for rural health professionals and development and dissemination of public health information.
