I have more than thirty years experience in the IT security industry on three continents and have held senior and middle management roles for international companies in cyber security software R&D and development, product management, sales support and training. Born in the UK and now also an Australian citizen, I left the UK as Head of Product Management for Dr Solomon’s(now McAfee) to setup Dr Solomon's North American operations in Boston, USA as VP Operations & Customer Service.I moved to Australia as Technical Marketing Manager for a small Australian distributor and took up the role as Regional/Program Manager for Symantec Security Response in 1997 setting up their Security Response team in APAC before joining MessageLabs as Technical Director in 2003. I have been running my own businesses since 1996, initially a web dev then software development (designed and coded CipherIM an encrypted IM platform) company changing to a hosted services provider (MSP, SaaS now Cloud) in 2005. The business focussed on go to market services (vendor services) from 2010, in 2017 re-launched the 'Systems' brand to take the growing systems integration solutions to market.Since the advent of GDPR and the UK's Cyber Essentials programme focus has shifted to cyber security and data compliance consulting and solutions services. Services broadly cover cyber security awareness, cyber defence and data compliance.Specialties: Broad ICT security and data compliance knowledge, software product development, programme and project management in the cloud security, communication and collaboration markets. Experience in EMEA, USA and Asia Pacific Markets. Industry and media liaison and spokesperson with print, radio and TV experience. Keen interest in classics and sports cars having competed in many long distance rallies, hill climbs and sprints.
