Witnessing the twin towers go down in high school propelled me to my first career in the military as an Infantryman. There I developed coveted military soft skills like; effective time management, communication skills, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure. After nearly nine years of active service I felt I had accomplished my goals and sought other challenges. I continued my military service in the California National Guard while seeking new career challenges at Pasadena City College. While studying I was selected for a Medical Research internship at the University of California, Irvine and fell in love with data behind the medical research. The medical research was interesting but the programs that manipulated the data to find statistical correlations and transform it from theoretical models to visuals captured my attention. By the end of my internship I was applying to transfer to universities to major in Computer Science. Now, I break features and design test plans to help control the chaos of software development.
