I approach my work through a community engagement lens that is laser-focused on bringing diverse stakeholders together to learn from one another and make a difference. Most of my career has centered on meeting the public purpose of education and advocating for social / economic justice in under-resourced communities, but I am open to new opportunities that make an impact in our changing world. My 30 year career includes senior roles in higher education, national non-profits, AmeriCorps national service programs, and EdTech B-Corps. My favorite work has been restructuring or establishing new functions in high growth environments. Through these experiences, I’ve gained expertise in cross-sector partnerships, community building, volunteer engagement, data-driven strategy, and scaleable operations. My lived experience impacts all that I do, so it’s personally important that I show up as my authentic self. In doing so, I hope to help others do the same. You should know that I am... • A proud GenXer • A single mom turned empty nester • A product of rural and public education • A leader of Women's ERGs and DEIB Advocate • A 5th generation Californian • A Certified California Naturalist and Interpretive Guide • A 2x recipient of public assistance • A first-gen college graduate • and so much more.
