Since 04/2021, I work on YouTube Data team, with a group of technologists building and running infrastructure processing huge amount of data for analytical uses by YouTube creators and internal analysts, also serving to viewers.Previously, I worked on Ads and Analytics for 6+ years. I led a team to build and launch products for App/Web publishers and advertisers to better gain insights and find their audience on Web and mobile platforms. Annual revenue under management is XB$.Even before that, I worked on Infrastructure. R&D and production of a global scale, highly available, and ultra low latency data store that is on the path of Web search, Gmail, Ads, Android, etc.

Research and development of data management software. Extensively involved in the Partiqle project (transactional key-value store) in the group. Partiqle is built on the concept of entity-groups. It uses a generic key-value store (such as Voldemort or HBase) as storage layer. In order to be massively scalable, Partiqle limits transaction ACID properties inside entity-groups (a collection of data). Partiqle is being commercialized by NEC Corp as InfoFrame Elastic Relational Store (IERS). Among my duties in the partiqle project, I designed and developed various design tools that are essential for actual users to use the product. I designed and prototyped a logical design tool developed tools for automatically design entity-groups for a workload. This is important because transaction ACID properties are only guaranteed inside entity-groups, and this has consequences in the consistency and throughput of a workload. The tool I built automate this process on solid principles.I also designed and built a tool for automatically suggesting physical design options such as indexing, nesting, and clustering. This line of work can be used for general key-value stores for improving the throughput of workloads.

I worked on improving database usability with my advisor Prof. H.V. Jagadish. I helped both expert and non-expert users to perform analytics on databases through: novel querying paradigms and interfaces, data structures and algorithms for easy navigation and filtering of a large data set, and automatic refinement of SQL queries.
