Managed the bank’s portfolio of sovereign and private sector loans in the major Latin American countries. Represented bank on steering committees, negotiated new credit facilities, approved debt-equity conversions, sold loans on secondary markets. Led the bank's participation in the first Brady plan debt swaps in Mexico. Also responsible for country risk oversight of bank's international exposure in Latin America and parts of Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

Responsible for country risk analysis, originally for the Andean countries and, ultimately, all Latin America during the first Latin American debt crisis.
