"75% of Londoners regularly use Transport For London's (TfL) journey planner, creating over 8 million unique visits a month and 250 million visits a year (as of 2013). ... The new journey planner, which replaces a site that had a customer satisfaction score of over 90%, has been more successful than we could of anticipated. Mobile use is up from 45% to over 80% and customer feedback has been resoundingly positive and the site works as planned across phones, tablets and desktops."Overall winner UX awards 2013

    I was responsible for the commercial/user facing side of the web-product, setting digital direction for the future of the site. The primary challenge is the gathering and definition of a huge amount of requirements from competing stakeholders, with extremely limited and stretched design & build resources. These are then prioritised with the CEO, based on commercial return and approximate effort. I then design the behaviour, interface & interactions for these, curate them through to live deployment and monitor customer behaviour/reaction.We won the e-consultancy award for Innovation in E-commerce in 2009We’ve built the sector from nothing, and all other entrants have virtually cloned our site and process, except for unique elements like the Home Trial, which is unique in any sector, and one of a few online firsts at Glasses Direct. First commercial use of augmented reality. First wholesale customisation of all photography based on user journey (tinting lenses of entire range). -Giving strategic options to the senior management team, then executing on the given direction/option-Finding creative ways to do customer research with limited funds. -Requirements gathering & specification, interface & interaction design for new products within GD (currently under development)-Management of 3rd party multivariate testing agencies – since brought in house with self managed tool.-Full exposure to and embracement of the agile process. -MVT & A/B testing, QA of product, customer research (phone, 1-2-1 interviews, surveys etc), mental model of customer journey, heavy use of google analytics & coremetrics
