Senior Postdoctoral Researcher
As a senior postdoctoral researcher, I'm responsible for designing, executing, and managing a proof of concept project. This project sits at the intersection of protein-protein interactions, Drug Discovery, and small molecules, making it both fascinating and challenging. My technical work involves cell-based assays to measure the biological activity of small molecules and protein-protein interaction detection & analysis methods such as Co-immunoprecipitation, Phosphoproteomics, and Crystallography. Postdoctoral Researcher
During this time, our research was focused on identifying epigenetic modifiers with a potential role in the mesenchymal-adrenergic transition neuroblastoma (PMID: 28650485). In doing this, we use several primary and cancer neuroblastoma cell lines to investigate the effect of overexpressing and silencing epigenetic modifiersof interest. Moreover, we study subcellular localization, protein-protein interactions (i.e., coIPs, proteomics), and deposition patterns of histone-posttranslational modifications (ChIPseq, CUT&RUN).
Postdoctoral Researcher
In 2018, I moved to Strasbourg, France, for my first postdoc. Here, we investigated the progression of Friedreich's Ataxia (FA) cardiomyopathy and its active correction and identified dysregulated genes linked to central metabolism pathways. I also contributed to characterizing the transgenic FA mouse model and establishing the protocol to perform single-cell RNA sequencing analysis of dorsal root ganglia (DRG).

2011, I started my PhD at the Universitat Polytechnic of Valencia (UPV) in Spain. My dissertation unraveled the link between mitochondrial dysfunction and cytoskeletal abnormalities in FA and the contribution of these events to the neurodegenerative process in the disease. Throughout the execution of the project, my research group underwent a series of relocations, transitioning from one esteemed research institute to another, including the prestigious IBV, the highly reputed Biomedical Institute of Valencia, the renowned Principe Felipe Research Center, and the esteemed University of Valencia.
