Install, monitor, maintain and performance tune production and non-production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. Develop, implement and continually review database policies and procedures to ensure the security, integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying applications.Maintain and deploy databases that meet requirements for security, performance and HA/DR, monitor database performance, and troubleshoot database issues. Install and configure database software, consult with development teams on SQL and application design and work with the Systems team on database infrastructure tasks.Lead moderate to high database issues/needs through resolution/completion. Ensure quality RCAs as needed, and address assigned remediation actions.Proactively manage the performance and stability of all production and internal database infrastructure. Perform moderate to high complexity performance tuning.Create and maintain moderate to highly compliex written procedures for team members.Independently work enterprise projects or infrastructure projects.Develop moderate to high complexity scripts for database monitoring and to automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell and Python.Plan, test and install moderate to high complexity upgrades/patches and database changes. Investigating issues in database and related applications and driving to root cause and resolution. Developing scripts and tools as necessary to support operations and projects. Writing and updating documentation of new and legacy systems and processes. Mentoring and training new developers, support engineers, and database administrators in database architecture, best practices, and Amazon operations.
