In each episode of the Officer Down Memorial Podcast, I share the stories of how these men and women heroically lost their lives in the Line of Duty. These podcasts are produced in a story telling format sharing these officer's stories based on input from the men and women who served with them, and the families who were left behind. I started at the Sheriff's Office volunteering on the Posse in 1996. I then worked part-time for Kasson Police Department and as a part- time dispatcher for the county. I was hired as a full-time Deputy Sheriff in 2002 assigned to patrol. I've worked in patrol, on the ENTRY Team, in Warrants, in Crime Prevention, on several technology projects, and as an Investigator before being elected as Sheriff in Nov of 2014.

I was a Full-Time Deputy Sheriff with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office located just west of Rochester, MN. I'm currently assigned to investigations. In the past I've worked in patrol, Warrants, ENTRY Team, I also assisted and managed the Mobile Computer Terminal program and the department website. I also served as one of the liason Deputies working with the Dodge County Sheriff's Posse.

I started in the broadcast industry back in 1988 after attending the Ron Bailie School of Broadcasting in Phoeniz, Arizona. I then had the opportunity to work for some great broadcasting companies in Nebraska, Kansas, and Minnesota. After taking a few years off to pursue a second career in law enforcement, I started doing voiceover work again from my home and have had the opportunity to work on hundreds of projects for dozens of clients in the US, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, and South Africa. Even though I am a part-time voiceover guy, I usually turn around copy and audio with most projects within 48 hours.

I started my law enforcement career as a part-time patrol officer for the Kasson Police Department in January of 1998. One of my biggest projects with this agency was helping to develop and fund their first K9 Program.

I left the radio stations in 1994 accepting an offer to work for one of my biggest advertising clients, KL Communications, Inc. I accepted the position of General Manager with them in 1994 to help market the company and build a new security division. I was responsible for all advertising and marketing as well as day to day operations and management. After a great 4 years with this company, I left in 1998 to take on my next challenge -- returning to college to earn my Law Enforcement Degree.

After spending 4 years working for some great broadcasting companies in Nebraska and Kansas, I accepted the position of Production Director for Laser 101.7 and KWEB 1270AM in Rochester Minnesota. While with this company, I worked as Production Director, then as Program Director for their Hot Country AM Station, and then moved into Sales before leaving the company in 1994.
