About David Dixon

I am an information technology and telecommunications specialist with an extensive background in public safety. Previous to my current position, I worked with a Motorola channel partner as a technical support specialist. I have a background in two-way radio programming, implementation, support and repair. I am familiar with subscriber as well as infrastructure equipment. Prior to moving back into the private sector, I worked as a public safety dispatcher for over 14 years with the City of Milford Fire Department. During that time I served a number of years as President of the dispatcher's union - IAFF Local 4260. I have been involved as a member of the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) and the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO). In addition to public safety, I have an extensive background in electronics, computer and network technology. I have done considerable work as an independent IT consultant for local small businesses offering design, implementation, maintenance and service for computer networks, telecommunications systems, and other office technologies.
