Lead the transformation of the Ashburn Break/Fix team to a team of highly skilled and motivated Engineers. The transformation began with a new 24x7 Operations Center based in Pune, India. The Operations Center ran in parallel for 6-months before the Technician team began to take on Engineering responsibilities. I used internal and external training resources to up-level the Ashburn team while on boarding new Engineers to the team in Ashburn and London. At around 12-months the Operations Center was right sized to meet the demand of the business. The transformation elapsed approximately 18-months.

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of Symantec Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) NAM, EMEA and APJ data centers and assume a critical role in maintaining the overall uptime.Mentor a team of data-center operations engineers in accomplishing the various day-to-day datacenter related tasks as well as consolidations and new build-outs.Served as Tier III support for requests and incident response.Refine existing internal processes in addition to adding new functionality and responsibilities to the team.Implement best-practice methodology for maintaining a data center environment; data center cleanliness, ticket handling, author internal processes.Lead the effort to gather data center operations requirement to transition to new ITSM tool and liaised with ITSM team to develop workflows, request types, request queues and reporting.Collaborated with infrastructure functional teams to plan and execute projects including; net-new, capacity adds, data center consoldations/ relocations and decomissions.Managed multiple simultaneous projects and ensured they were completed on-time and within budget while established data center build standards.-- Key to new hire process; developed a simulated production server rack with equipment seen in the data center and tailored interview questions to examine the candidates technical knowledge and application to real-world problems.-- London and Amsterdam data center builds; onsite managing contractors, remote hands and Symantec staff to complete the physical network connectivity and begin commissioning of services in both data centers.

I provided recommendation to National Cancer Institute for modification to network closets in support of Network Modernization. The proposal encompassed UPS battery backup solution, environmental monitoring and defining impact to cooling infrastructure. Working with stakeholders in the organization we compiled business requirements to right-size UPS battery backup solution to meet the current and future demand of the edge network. Projected demand of network bandwidth and PoE requirements required a reevaluation on the demand of existing cooling infrastructure. Deliverables included Site Survey template, network switch power calculations and UPS selection matrix with multiple variables to assist in right-sizing the solution. A final recommendation was delivered based on projected demand with room for growth.
