This is a hands on role, where I'm performing the electronic and mechanical design, and managing a small team to assist with build work. I was initially involved in hardware selection and configuration, and then tasked with writing the C code for the Pack Controller, which operates as a gateway between the vehicle control unit (VCU) and the individual battery modules within the battery pack.The Pack Controller currently communicates with the VCU and battery modules via CAN (dual interfaces) so I have also been involved with design of the CAN message frames and protocols.As this is a remote role, I developed VCU and battery module emulators to enable me to test the Pack Controller before commiting the code to a version control system.
