Dean is the author of six books, including two that have won awards, as well as numerous pieces in scholarly and popular journals and multi-volume works. His most recent book is "Foretaste of the Future" on the Book of Revelation. He also does podcasts on Revelation and gives seminars in various settings, including local churches. He recently retired from full-time teaching to focus on writing, speaking, and international teaching. Before coming to his teaching position at MidAmerica Nazarene University, Dean served as a theological educator in global settings for 24 years. He taught at institutions with international student populations in both the Philippines and Germany. An ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene, he has pastored churches in the U.S. and Japan.
