I have been very successful in my career with British Gas; however due to a business restructure I am seeking new opportunities and challenges through voluntary redundancy. In my role as Northern Development Manager I was tasked with putting in to place plans and actions to generate new business for our employed and self employed IFA’s across several channels. This would be followed up by monthly visits to each adviser measuring the effectiveness of each channel while monitoring the profitability and the quality of the business received as a result. I would analyse results on a monthly basis and share best practice when successful, create and install actions to resolve any problematic areas, as well as implement changes where necessary. I was also responsible for creating a business plan that was mutually beneficial to Unwin Associates and Nationwide Building Society, the intention being the introduction of multiple agency branches in partnership with Unwin Associates. I created the plan, which was ultimately implemented by Nationwide, unfortunately without the support of Unwin Associates due to circumstances beyond my control. My role involved managing and developing my own panel of Mortgage Brokers and Independent Financial Advisers to bring quality and sustainable business to Standard Life Bank. I achieved this by close relationship management with my brokers, I provided an honest and consultative service that took their needs in to account whilst also ensuring the banks goals were met. My day-to-day duties involved serving accounts by inbound and outbound contacts as well as face-to-face field visits. I kept my panel informed by communicating changes to existing products and educating brokers when new products were introduced to the market.
