Founding member of a start-up, responsible for building the Drone Operations team and ensuring that mechanisms were in place to facilitate safe operations.• Developed the UAS Operating Safety Case and all associated processes and procedures for a drone security alarm response service, operating over uninvolved people in Class D airspace, directly below the London Heathrow approach path and from a heavily populated area, resulting in the issue of non-standard permissions from the UK CAA.

Provided internal assurance of flight safety processes and policies and managed all air safety occurrence reporting and training for an organisation of over 400 staff.• Audited and reviewed flight safety management policies and processes, providing advice, guidance and instructions to Unit and Sub-Unit executives which ensured compliance with Military Aviation Authority (MAA) and subordinate regulations.• Managed and investigated Defence Air Safety Occurrence Reports (DASORs) and Defence Aviation Error Management System (DAEMS) reports, ensuring that the appropriate level of investigation was conducted in order to identify causal factors, trends and make recommendations which mitigated risk and prevented recurrences.• Acted as the unit administrator for 2 flight safety related IT systems.

Ensured compliance with aviation regulations and developed evidence-based procedures to provide safety assurance to senior management whilst also managing a 50 strong Unmanned Aircraft fleet. Operationally deployed in Afghanistan in 2012-13.

Team leader in a Tactical UAS crew, ensuring the completion of tasks and mission requirements, managing BVLOS airspace deconfliction and providing first and second line imagery analysis. Operationally deployed in Afghanistan in 2009.• Planned and executed TUAS missions in conjunction with the UAS Pilot which ensured that the intelligence demands of the tasking authority were met safely and efficiently and to maximum effect. • Liaised with airspace controlling authorities and other air users ensuring safe separation of aircraft and deconfliction of airspace.

Provided timely and accurate first-line and secondary analysis of full motion video and still imagery, utilising collateral reporting, additional sources and ground knowledge to make assessments that enabled decision making by both ground troops and formation commanders at the highest level.

Delivered the safe operation of the Hermes 450 Unmanned Aircraft beyond visual line of sight out to 150 km, to provide real time intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance to intelligence demanders. Operationally deployed in Iraq in 2007.
