In my three years at the Alzheimer's Association, the Silicon Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's was the number one walk in the country in 2020, 2021, and 2022. The Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's is also the number two peer-to-peer fundraiser in the country.The 2022 Silicon Valley Walk broke records, raising over $1.8 million, beating the 2021 Silicon Valley Walk record of over $1.6 million, and the 2020 Walk raised over $1.5 million during a pandemic and in a virtual walk.Top family and friends teams raised over $25,000 each, with the number one team donating over $700,000. Top corporate teams raised between $25,000 and $150,000. The top sponsor donated $25,000, with the average sponsorship between $4,000 and $12,000.I was promoted to Sr. Walk Director in February 2020, one month before the pandemic closed down all offices. My entire first year in the role was spent building a relationship with my volunteer committee and recruiting volunteers, sponsors, and participants virtually. We not only persevered, we thrived and grew beyond expectations. That year was the first year the Silicon Valley Walk was number one in the country.In 2019, the Santa Cruz Walk exceeded its goal by over $50,000, raising over $285,000, 122% of the goal.l.
