Over a period of 14 years, I have helped grow the Skin/Wound Care and Regenerative Division of Medline seven fold. I have helped develop entire new product lines, helped obtain regulatory clearances, created viable supply chains, created preclinical and clinical evidence to assist product adoption in both the acute care as well as the post acute care settings. In creating the evidence base, I have worked with independent labs, internal labs, Universities using the pathways of sponsored research and also via support of Investigator Initiated Grants. I have published 24 papers myself, and have anchored another 40 odd publications, and hundreds of posters presented at professional burn and wound care meetings. I have engaged Key Opinion Leaders, moderated panel meetings, and published the findings of several panels. I have evaluated over 200 technologies to identify those few that have the right combination of novelty, intellectual property protection, economic viability, and appeal to clinicians in a market that is crowded.

Moved from the UK to the USA to work for the same company, Advanced Medical Solutions. The role was to commercialize technology developed in the UK, such as silver containing wound dressings, and cyanoacrylate surgical adhesives to large US based commercial partners. OEM deals were executed with large sales and marketing companies that are market leaders in Wound Care. The business was grown from less than a million dollars to close to 8 million dollars during his tenure.

I worked for what was then a start up (AMS is a medium sized, successful profit generating company today), in helping set up a line of pressure sensitive adhesive products. Created original formulations, helped obtain ISO and FDA certifications, purchased and set up commercial equipment to launch new products for commercialization via the OEM route. Helped obtain funding from the UK Government to assist in development. Created research and development partnerships with multinationals.

Parkman, Ohio

The development of hydrocolloid wound dressings, patenting a novel composition. Laboratory development, testing, obtainment of regulatory clearances (510k), and scale up to manufacturing. The formulation, called the bipolymer formulation is a commercial product in the US market today used widely in the wound care and the ostomy care market.

Mumbai Area, India

My primary role was to created robust, viable and economic processes for the manufacture of fine chemicals. The work involved creating synthetic pathways for organic compounds, optimizing process parameters in the laboratory, then in a pilot plant. After further refinement of processing parameters at pilot stage, I was tasked with designing of commercial chemical manufacturing plants, and then assisting with the "start up" of these commercial units.
