Amplifying the voices of individuals and communities who otherwise do not get heard in the public debate is what got me into communications and advocacy. For 15 years, I have designed communications and advocacy strategies that have moved the needle on economic issues, racial equity, immigrant rights and public health. I am particularly proud of my efforts to spotlight the need to invest in boys and young men of color, which has now been taken up in a presidential initiative, My Brother’s Keeper.As a communications consultant with my own shop Resonance as well as a strategist with Wonder: Strategies for Good, I select client projects and consultant teams that advance racial justice and lift up opportunity for low-income communities and communities of color. I believe story-driven strategies tailored to the audiences who we need to move will create the change we seek.I am also a writer, performer and community activist who believes in the power of stories to create social change.
