    The biggest part of my job was to educate seniors and those nearing retirement about the Medicare options available to them, for their specific situation. This involved std. Medicare plans, Advantage plans and Part D Prescription programs. Every year, a couple months of training was required to catch up on the changes with Regence, AARP, United Healthcare and others as we represented all of their products. We also helps retirees with getting their IRA's and retirements funds out of their company's vendor and into safety where the stock market would not dwindle their life savings. I found that doing large seminars was far more desireable than seeing each person in their home. More people could get the information they needed. We would follow-up in their homes for more help upon request, which was usually the case. I provided Medicare supplement, Life Insurance and financial vehicles. This involved a some cold-calling and also leads provided by the company as well as advertising for seminars that I did on my own with a partner. Each year many of the same people would call us for a "tune up" to make sure their Drs. still took their plan, etc. Heavy customer service and problem solving involved.
