We opened Automotive Plastics Repair, Inc dba The Bumper Place in 1984. I joined the company with my husband in 1991. After Williams retirement from work in 2006 I became President of our company which grew to 61 employees and business was booming for many years. We hired Ronnie Clark as our General Manager and he has done a fantastic job. We could not have found anyone better suited for that position.As with many industries we have had changes. We have seen others come and go. We watched the different roles that insurance has played. We have had first hand the difficult times of finding employees that are ready and willing to work 40 hours a week for good pay. We have lost so many of our workable cores due to the destruction of them by OEMs. Each of these have played a part in our decision. We have worked with so many shops and developed great relationships. We are thankful for the 35 years that we have called Wendell home to our business. As of May 1, 2019 we will no longer remanufacture bumper covers. We surely will miss our shops but we also will miss the employees that we call our 'core group'. These are the ones that have been with us 10 to 21 years. These folks are more like family than employees. Each one that wanted to has been placed in other positions. To say that we are blessed is such an understatement.Now, as I go into the my next journey I'm excited to see what is in store.
