I was fortunate to wear the title of Stay-At-Home Mom for many years. My Momma Superpowers started to fade when my sons left for college, so I decided I need a few surrogate children. I rejoined the workforce as the Career Specialist at Kamiakin High School (Home of the Braves) and I knew I found my new tribe. I love working with high school students so much, now I'm working with all three high schools in the Kennewick School District as the Workforce Specialist/Community Engagement Coordinator. How do I inspire our students to be the best they can be? I ask. After many questions, I guide them on a path to find their passion. Whether that is trade-school, college, the military or directly into the workforce, I strive to help students find a future they are excited about. I look for creative ways to share information about all of the opportunities just waiting to inspire student's dreams. Working with teachers, counselors and the administrators, I am part of a team that helps our student be their best. I know working with teenagers isn't everyone's ideal job, but it is mine! I love their energy and when they catch a vision of what they can become when they work hard, it boost my momma superpowers back to full. The best part of working at a school is summer vacation. That's when you'll find me traveling, building furniture or sitting on the back porch reading.
