Began my career here in 1989 as a GN on a Neurology floor. Craniotomies, vents, you name it.. truly baptism by fire! I transferred after 8 months to an orthopedic floor which consisted of pre-op teaching and post op care of hip/ knee replacements, spinal surgeries (primarily laminectomies) and broken bones from accidents. Left this position to pursue traveling nursing assignments, but stayed as a pool nurse until I got married and moved out of state.
