Debbie Mott Email and Phone Number
Currently working with the Supported Employment team in West Sussex, which provides Free employment support to individuals with confirmed learning disabilities, autism or sensory and physical disabilities into fulfilling and sustainable paid employment. Supporting both the individual and employer in their individual journey. My past work experiences have been in agencies that safeguard and empower vulnerable people including children as well as adults with disabilities. Including work with prolific and persistent offenders; teens who adopt life limiting and risky behaviours; and people living in secure settings, court settings and within rehabilitative departments such as probation. More recently I have been the primary carer in fostering teens at risk of harm and exploitation within my family home. They often have extreme attachment deficiencies and exhibit behaviours related to mental health disorders. In addition, I have 9 years direct independent advocacy service experience, ensuring peoples voices, wishes and feelings are listened to and acted upon. Including using non-instructive advocacy methods for people with acquired brain injury or learning disabilities. I have previous experience in managing community led projects and in partnership with Sussex probation services and Police. This benefits my current role at The Aldingbourne trust within the work-aid team. Because, I strongly believe from first hand experience, how having a job helps people to feel more independent, valued and can give them life goals and aspirations. These promote changes in perspectives for individuals. I have an ‘outside of the box’ way of thinking, a creative mind, I am always looking for options to confront and challenge disempowerment for individuals - I have been able to see how an application form can often be un-accessible to people with a complex background or those with a learning disability or autism. I am always looking to promote a joint learning and an all inclusive culture - especially upholding a wraparound support network for people. My building positive working relationships is based upon my anti-discriminatory views, listening as well as having a non-judgemental approach and have experience and access to a range of communication methods.I consistently work to the highest standard and prosper and flourish within a cohesive team environment to deliver services to both communities, families and individuals.
