Independent Optometry Practice.I do... well, a bit of everything! I am one of the main opticians in the practice, but I also maintain our IT systems. I also coordinate credentialing for the doctors, facilitate VCP/Insurance contracts, reconciling, investigate options to improve our systems and action on them.I have also become a key player in the practice for establishing new locations. This involves preparation pre opening of documentation and credentialing, establishing accounts, preparing hardware/software and equipment. I then also actively work at that location for a period of time on boarding existing staff to our processes, equipment and systems.

I started with Castle Pines Eye Care as an Optician 11/2013, but was asked to step in to the Office Manager Position 3/2014. I continued in this position until July 2015 when my son's urgent health issue demanded I step back to part time work. I continued part time until May 2017 when I resumed my position full time as an optician.

I developed this concept: A First-of-its-kind temporary-staff service for Front Office/Dispensing staff. Varied from straight reception work to full dispensing filling the needs of independent Optometrists who often ran with very small staff.

My start in to the optical world! I started as in the receptionist position, but showed an aptitude for dispensing and dealing with our patients and was offered a chance to qualify as a dispensing optician via an apprenticeship. Two years of study while working full time, practical tests and examinations later I certified with distinction from the TAFE Dispensing Certificate course!
