Work in partnership with the Northglenn city council and urban renewal authority to implement the overall economic development and redevelopment strategic plans for the community. Manage a $9.5 million budget and urban renewal programs. Assist more than 1,000 existing businesses, and develop and implement marketing and outreach programs to foster the creation, expansion, and retention of retail and primary jobs fueling the economic health for the City of Northglenn. As well as increase the vitality of the city through increased sales and property taxes, capital investment, jobs and improves the overall quality of living for the community.

Built and led a start-up non-profit economic development trade organization through private and public fundraising, public awareness, marketing and outreach programs. This included the formation of the board of directors and supporting committees, hosting more than 40 special events, media coordination and press releases resulting in 150+ global, national, and local media placements and articles. Developed and implemented a formal marketing and branding campaign, gave more than 200 formal presentations, and held 40+ special events to promote and market business and nanotechnology economic development opportunities in Colorado in less than two years. Coordinated and held the first global nanotechnology-energy summit and tradeshow with more than 300 local, national and international attendees, serving as a major fundraiser and increasing public awareness positioning Colorado is now one of the top ten national nanotechnology leaders. Obtained a three-year $375,000 operating state grant, and the development of a formal membership structure which recruited more than 75 paying members.

Managed six workforce centers with a $5.1 million budget which served more than 35,000 unemployed citizens looking for employment and training opportunities Developed a comprehensive marketing and branding campaign creating a new name, vision, mission, logo, tagline, and marketing materials to position the Center as a leader in workforce development. Managed 75 employees, and implemented staff enhancements, mentoring, and team building programs which resulted in a 96% increase in employee retention, saving thousands of dollars in hiring and retraining costs. Developed and administered a new customer service program which included enhanced staff training, and the implementation of technology enhancements which increased the jobseeker placement rate by 71%. Created programs and opportunities to connect companies with a quality workforce, and customized training programs to specifically meet the needs of local businesses. These efforts reduced hiring, training, and employee retention budgets substantially for participating companies.

Assisted in the implementation of the overall economic development strategic plan representing 12 municipalities and 208,000 businesses. Oversight of the 1.5 million budget, staff management or six employees, organized fundraising and board development efforts, and facilitated many committees, and special taskforce groups to promote the goals and vision of the organization. These efforts fostered the creation, expansion, and retention of thousands of high-paying primary jobs fueling the economic health and vitality with office, industrial, and redevelopment/revitalizations projects within the community. This included major involvement with workforce and educational programs, economic impact studies, media outreach, research, website coordination, newsletters, special events, public relations, trade shows, company incentive packages, and target marketing efforts (aerospace, healthcare, photonics, nanotechnology, biotechnology, aviation, and energy). Implemented technology and new databases to tract members, land and buildings, and to track prospects which resulted in an increase in employee productivity and effectiveness for the organization. Supported and advocated many business legislative initiatives and tax issues, and land development, transportation and infrastructure projects (expansion of C-470, Northwest Parkway, Fastracks, and RTD).

Managed a $1 million budget with a 7-person staff representing 10 municipalities and more than 10,000 businesses. Supervising all facets of the organization provided a broad-based knowledge of how to effectively manage a leading economic development non-profit organization. Supervised the development of the strategic and business plans, oversight of all budgeting activities, performed major research projects, staff management, created target marketing programs, media outreach and contact, created newsletters and the website design and content, facilitated trade shows, identified strategic business outreach efforts, led fundraising initiatives, and identified financing mechanisms to assist the businesses community. Successfully assisted in the attraction of thousands of companies, billions in new capital investment, and tens of thousands of new jobs through proactive economic development efforts. Many of the major projects included DIA, and mixed-used developments including Fitzsimons, and other major land redevelopment/revitalization endeavors. Implemented the largest state water and sewer state income tax credit project, and facilitated hundreds of creative and multi-faceted business incentive plans to assist businesses in relocation, expansion, and retention projects.
