I am passionate about creating a response to individual and family needs in the world in which I live, work and play. My motto: I will not take myself seriously and love an environment filled with laughter, but I will always take my calling to serve others. I do this through my job, my volunteer time and my place of worship. I realize there has not been a time that service to others was missing. Every missions activity as a child, service clubs in high school and in college groups led me to a career in social services direct service provision and administration. My skills and accomplishments include:*resource development - successfully obtaining funds, in-kind materials/services and earned revenue to meet service delivery and operational goals each year; obtained approximately $50M through foundation, individual, corporate and grant contributions with an additional $5-10M in in-kind materials/services in my career*developing/implementing strategic planning process - included key donors, volunteers and all staff in creating a rolling 5 year strategic plan with a annual budget tied directly to the annual goals with quarterly reports on progress to meet the annual goals*budget development/oversight/management and financial reporting -- ensured the annual budget was tied to the strategic plan and annual goals; ensured annual financial audit was completed with a clean audit received in each year I served as an Executive Director*employee recruitment/training/management/retention -- ensured all legal processes were met while creating a safe and enjoyable work environment focused on excellent customer service; multiple staff members worked for and alongside me for over 10 years each and 3 for at least 16 years each*volunteer recruitment/training/management/retention -- ensured key volunteers received training and updated information which resulted in multiple volunteers serving for over 16 years each; involved these volunteers in strategic planning, celebrating success and improving processes for safety and service delivery*program evaluation and development -- implemented continuous process improvement efforts for each program with an annual evaluation on efficiency/effectiveness which resulted in expansion or dissolution of programs during my career.
