Being the Executive Director of the Inland Empire Open, I managed the executive functions of the 501 (c) (3)...planning, attending and preparing reports for Board meetings, led fund-raising event, stayed abreast of legal and accounting issues and all pubic relations. I also wore the title of Tournament Director for the non-profit's sole fund raiser, a PGA Tour Golf Tournament. Responsibilities included amassing, organizing and motivating over 600 volunteers, selling sponsorships, creating a community buzz, marketing, working along side PGA Tour staff operations and putting on a quality event on a shoestring budget. The event was deep in debt when I took over the leadership role and with the help of a strong Board of Directors, we not only dug our way out of debt but after 4 years but proceeded to contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities! A feat which I am quite proud.
