My name is Deborah Bennett, currently, I am employed as the Lead Infant Teacher at School for Amazing Kids - Dearing Downs. No two days are alike, but my job requires organization and being quick on my feet to make sure every infant is nurtured and cared for and that we are DHR compliant. I design age appropriate weekly lesson plans that focus on gross and fine motor development, introduction to STEM, and practice with baby sign language. Once a week my team of two to three other teachers gather together to discuss ideas for the classroom, how refine our activities with the six week old babies to the nine month old babies, how to pique the interest of nine month olds to eighteen month olds and how to mesh them all together in an orderly manner.In my free time I do creative freelance work through my hobby, Wonderfully Made Design Boutique. Mostly I create work that is scripture centered or inspired by lyrics from worship songs. My evenings and weekends are filled with occasional art festivals and custom orders of anything from hand-painted pillows to logo design. I stay busy, but I love the challenges my customers present me with, meeting new people, and seeing their face light up when I give them their finished product! Growing up in the small town, everyone knew each other and helped each other. Attending the University of Montevallo, which is small in nature as well, fostered the same sense of community that I knew growing up and has continued to be an important factor in my life. I thrive in a team environment and treasure the friendships it creates. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, and it's vital to learn from as well as help each other. Doing so makes us better coworkers and well-rounded people. I try to keep in mind that there is always something new to be learned and always room for improvement.My faith in Jesus is my cornerstone—I incorporate it into every part of my life. It's my desire to make an impact with the designs I create and help clients by meeting and exceeding their expectations. I want my work to touch someone on a personal level. Being part of a company that shares this same mission while also encouraging me as I pursue my creative aspirations, would be the ideal environment for me to shape a lifetime career.
