The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) is the largest Secretariat in Massachusetts state government. It oversees expenditures of over $13.5 billion annually; it has approximately 22,000 employees; and it services 1.5 million clients. The 16 agencies of EOHHS provide services to promote health, safety, independence, and a high quality of life for individuals and families throughout the state.EOHHS agencies own and operate over 700 buildings on 35 campuses across the Commonwealth. The campuses are located on approximately 5,400 acres, and the buildings total over 9 million square feet. EOHHS-owned facilities include 4 public health hospitals, 2 psychiatric hospitals, 10 juvenile detention campuses, 11 mental health centers, and the state laboratory. EOHHS also owns Soldiers Homes in Chelsea and Holyoke, 2 campuses providing residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities, and over 100 group homes. In addition, EOHHS leases more than 150 offices and other properties, totaling more than 2 million square feet. The Director of Facilities manages a staff of 25 people, providing overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of these properties, both state-owned and leased. Responsibilities include capital and strategic planning, facilities leasing and planning, central building services, and shared services such as emergency preparedness.

Section 32 of the Massachusetts Valor Act II of 2014 establishes a 15-member Massachusetts Veterans Long Term Care and Housing Master Plan Commission. Commission members have begun the work of evaluating data and making recommendations regarding the housing and residential care needs of veterans, spouses and dependents.

Developed program and organizational structure for Mass Hort’s new initiative, which encourages people of all ages to grow, cook and enjoy fresh produce. The program also donates thousands of pounds of organically grown vegetable to local food pantries.

During year-long planning process, supervised logistical operations and coordinated with state police, convention & visitors’ bureau and tourism office. At the four-day meeting, Massachusetts hosted approximately 35 of the 50 state governors.

Provided strategic direction and management of a family-owned business during ten years of rapid growth. Negotiated and signed contracts; established templates and policies for accurate bids from subcontractors; and created transparent systems for job specifications, sign-offs, and change orders.Hired and managed full-time, part-time, and subcontract employees; created benefits package; and wrote employee handbook.Also prepared or reviewed all company communications, including web site content, logos, press releases, print advertising, newsletters, and brochures.Revenues more than tripled between 1998 and 2008, and gross profit margin surpassed benchmarks for successful companies of comparable size. Publicity and editorial coverage included television, internet, newspapers, and magazines.

Responsible for accurate timing of the show and for production content, up to and during air time, including making changes to show while on the air. Guest booker for CNN’s U.S. Saturday and Sunday morning news magazine shows Developed relationships with newsmakers, celebrities, and publicists; pre-interviewed guests; and set up on-air location, studio, and telephone interviews.
