As part of the Community Engagement Team I focus on the social determinants of health (SDOH) ensuring gaps are filled and relationships are built. I continuously develop and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of organizations: Health and Family Services, Government agencies, community resources and advocacy groups. I find value in Identifying and developing relationships and have the ability to be a connector across the board ensuring sustainable connections. I serve as a liaison and my partnership opportunities allow me to continue to establish stronger and visible relationships expanding across the state!

Plan and coordinate activities related to CDCs Injection Safety Campaign, and the Be Antibiotics Aware: Smart Use, Best Care Campaign, update websites, conduct presentations for medical practitioners and infection prevention specialists Conduct training and outreach, promote educational materials and strategies for protecting patients from exposure to blood borne pathogens in health care setting, promote adherence of appropriate prescribing guidelines and use among providers, update listservs, produce newslettersWork with statewide Influenza program and providers to encourage reporting and specimen collection

Managed complaint process by collecting pertinent information from citizens and other agencies regarding county-provided services to route issues to appropriate departments for resolution through the department's database.Previously served as Wake County liaison to establish Wake County Human Services satellite office in western Wake County, including facilitating and organizing meetings with Western Regional Community Advisory Committee (WRCAC) members and Wake County management to determine services to be provided and organized and led monthly meetings with various community members, including pastors, police officers, non-profit organizations, etc. to assist with community action plan.Consulted with Chair of WRCAC to determine relevant information to present to Wake County Human Services Board and Wake County Commissioners for needs assessment.Expanded membership of WRCAC by identifying key resources within the county.

Established and maintained positive relationships with media contractors and strategic partners by working with them to develop commercials and written communications to educate the public on heart disease and stroke.

Consulted with 28 county health departments, including Health Directors and Program Managers to provide training and technical assistance in implementing various programs for increased physical activity, healthy eating and tobacco free living by assisting with action plans.Validated and monitored proper usage of grants funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).Planned, coordinated and led staff trainings, presentations, and on-site consultations to local staff and community partners on community development, capacity building, community organizing and outreach.Maintained and trained community partners on state reporting system to track progress of action plans.Served as the State Health Department "Expert Advisor" for two national grants.

Managed, directed and provided technical assistance for 10 tobacco prevention grants for the State of NC. Analyzed data, produced monthly updates and submitted reports to the CDC and Health and Wellness Trust Fund to assist with monitoring, compliance and progress of action plans. Assured regional coordination, problem resolution and organization of community programs and statewide interventions. Assisted with local and statewide strategic planning and coalition building utilizing best practices.

Recruited, facilitated and maintained a community-based coalition of over 80 members to promote smoke-free environments in Wake County. Designed and implemented smoke-free restaurant materials and decal utilized statewide, which was recognized by local media. Generated annual action plans, media campaigns, news releases, brochures and planned workshops. Served as liaison to community leaders and citizens through a multi-disciplinary team by creatively planning events, such as Tobacco Free Night at the Ballpark and designated smoking areas for local minor league baseball teams. Managed approximately $35,000 annual budget, developed positive relationships with funding sources and reviewed grants to attain funding.

Designed and conducted health promotion activities for the community and corporations. Planned, developed, presented all prenatal, family planning, and parenting classes to over 5,000 clients. Established and maintained collaborative relationships with community leaders. Coordinated Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program and completed Contract Addendum. Collected data to develop the Community Health Assessment and reported results to State Health Director.
