I used to write for the Tropical Breeze newspaper before newspapers became extinct. I blog for The Safety Harbor Art and Music Center (SHAMc) as well as Safety Harbor Connect. I have a blog called stufffromthelaundrychute.blogspot.com that is currently sitting lost and abandoned in cyberspace because the BlogSpot people changed the format. I haven't posted in years. I'm a better writer now than I was then. It's no longer easy to post stories and poems exactly the way I want them to appear on the site, nor can I manipulate and arrange pictures and text anymore. I'm sure I could figure it out, but I work on a computer all day long for 50 hours a week. The last thing I want to do is fight with ANYTHING in a technical way. ( I'm a Luddite at heart.) I was a massage therapist for 20 years. I'm currently working on a book with the help of my awesome family in Safety Harbor Writers and Poets.(Fingers crossed!) I participate in Open Mic (stupid spell-check, Mic is spelled Mic.) in Safety Harbor the second Wednesday of every month. The job I've currently had for sixteen years is linear in nature. It's for a corporation. It's a good job- for Florida. But there's NO creativity involved. I'm good at what I do and I work hard because I come from a family with a crazy Protestant work ethic. But it's not the job of my dreams. It is the kind of job I've always had in order to pay the bills. I have a 401K that will hopefully pay for the first three months of a nursing home in the future when I retire at 77. Sigh.
