Having been a school governor for 12 years and Chair of Governors for 8 years, I now lead training sessions for new governors and new & prospective chairs for local authorities and the Diocese of Westminster. I also work with governors and boards to help them improve their practice. I currently have two courses which I deliver to school governors either in person or remotely:New Governor Induction Training will help new governors to: - be aware of the national and local context of governance - be aware of the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) - understand the core functions, responsibilities and expectations of school governance - have an understanding of the relevant documentation required from their schools to better understand - and support effective governance - have greater confidence in how to contribute meaningfully and effectively on your Board - know how to access further information, training and support Training for new or prospective Chairs will help them: - Have the confidence and tools to be effective leaders of boards or committees - Understand their role and responsibilities - Be able to navigate challenges better - Know how to drive board improvement so that the board can drive school improvement - Know where to go for further support & guidanceMy governance training fits in nicely with being a director at Mammoth where I oversee the schedules for designers, programmers and operators, deal with the HR side of life as well as most other administrative matters.
