I am an experienced healthcare and higher education sector leader, with an innovative, dynamic and resilient approach to challenges and an unrelenting drive to continuously improve systems and processes. I am passionate about using innovative education to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals to lead from the front and deliver governance and process compliance balanced with compassion-led outcomes. I am an advocate and role model for women in leadership both in and outside work, and take up a position as the President of Winchester Rotary Club in 2022. I'm a regular participant in charity fundraising events and physical challenges such as the Dementia Walk, Cancer 5k Walk, Mount Snowdon Climb and the Spinnaker Abseil. Career HighlightsAs a CQC Registered Manager of a care home for individuals living with dementia I led my team of 55 to provide unrivalled care standards and sensory therapy. In my time here I developed internal quality assurance measures, drove continual CQC compliance, improved care practices to meet individual needs and introduced evidence-based dementia and clinical care. Under my stewardship, these interventions and the successful implementation of a programme of service delivery improvement projects directly resulted in a CQC ‘Outstanding’ award for Responsiveness and Evidence-based Compassionate CareAs the Director of Nursing Studies at the University of Surrey, I was responsible for programme delivery across a range of disciplines from District, General Practice and Community Children's Nursing to Advanced Gynaecology for Surgeons. I have held company director positions in two healthcare sector consultancy businesses, developing patient safety education and solutions, incident investigation and risk management training for managers and staff.I have excellent key skills in effective communication, planning and presentations and extensive experience in partnership working with Commissioners and Providers.
