As Director of Community and External Relations, Deborah serves as a member of the Agency Leadership Team. Deborah is responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic working relationships with political stakeholders, key community partners and businesses, and public policy advocates. In this role, Deborah works to ensure that Community Reach is a respected and top of mind entity within the greater health care system. This includes creating new and/or expanding on relationships with key partners and advising Community Reach leadership on strategies to enhance partnerships and public policy outcomes for the organization and most importantly, its clients. Additionally, Deborah is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of the PR/Marketing Team, along with responsibility for Community and External Relations for the Agency. Obermeyer will develop and maintain partnerships in the Adams County community for Community Reach Center, a non-profit, mental-health center with five Adams County outpatient offices in Brighton, Commerce City, Northglenn, Thornton and Westminster. Its mission is to “enhance the health of our community” by providing services that include individual and group therapy, early childhood and school-based services, substance abuse treatment, emergency services and therapeutic support groups.Community Reach Center served more than 15,000 unduplicated clients during the 2015 fiscal year. The Center is committed to integrating mental healthcare with primary healthcare to support the overall health of its clients: Therapists are embedded in several primary-care offices throughout the community. Additionally, the affiliated Mountainland Pediatrics Inc. provides primary pediatric care for children from birth through age 21 and is co-located with Community Reach Center’s Child Development Center in Thornton.

As President & CEO of the Metro North Chamber of Commerce (MNCC), Deborah Obermeyer is responsible for identifying, promoting and representing the unified needs of the business community, while growing membership and programs. MNCC is dedicated to promoting the economic vitality of our communities through partnerships with nearly 900 businesses representing 180,000 employees, 13 cities, 4 counties and 4 school districts. Deborah is responsible for organizational and strategic planning; board development and program implementation; gaining regional support for federal, state and local policy initiatives that enhance the economic prosperity of the region; and delivering programs and policies that engage members and present value for their financial investments ranging from sponsorships to organizational membership. ACHIEVEMENTS: Increased membership in organization by 550%, increased membership dues revenue by 270% and non dues revenue by $500,000. Developed grassroots lobbying programs on the local, state and federal levels to provide our membership access to elected officials. Activities include: Annual Mayors’ Roundtable; State Legislative Interview and Endorsement Program; live televised candidate interviews for local and state legislature candidates; annual event with Governor; and, debates and candidate forums for federal senators and representatives. Created Chamber–Council Interface in which key business and community leaders work collaboratively on issues that will impact the region such as transportation, infrastructure, education, workforce development and taxation. Led various coalitions addressing ballot issues dealing with transit, taxation and education. Honored with the Distinguished Service Award from Denver Regional Council of Governments, a regional organization comprised of 52 municipalities.
