There were a handful of arts incubators in the country serving small nonprofit arts organization start-ups, but nothing that was focused on the artist-entrepreneur as an individual needing start-up education and resources. Civic leaders from Austin, Boston, San Diego, Los Angeles, Denver and many towns in between toured the BAC to learn about this model.
