Medical Intensive Care Unit

Performing hands on care for patients on a large spectrum of medical-surgical units including cardiovascular, neurological, transplant, orthopedics, colon/rectal, urology and oncology in addition to other general medical-surgical units. Working closely with members of the health care team. Skilled in patient assessment, wound care, laboratory monitoring, pre and post surgical care and imaging. Trained in progressive care units.

Provided care for patients with neurological, complex medical conditions and disorders of consciousness in a long-term acute care facility. Responsibilities include full direct patient care and directing and collaborating with nursing assistants. Skilled in telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, deep suctioning, gastric, jejunostomy and nasal gastric tubes, colostomy care, wound care, central line care, restraints, and insertion of foley catheters and IVs. Managing relationships and time with all members of health care team including rehabilitation services.

Responsible for assisting a multi-disciplinary health care team in a variety of clinical support functions to ensure patient safety and a caring patient environment. Duties include vital signs, EKG’s, activities of daily living, blood draws, specimen collection, personal care and bathing with a focus on communication between nurses and patients in order to manage patient flow smoothly. Importance focused on timely response to patient requests, protection of patient confidentiality, observing patients and communicating in a respectful manner.

• Design, manage and lead all phases of a bi-annual, multi-day ownership development program. Includes planning dates and location; curriculum research, development, and documentation; budget tracking and analysis; external vendor engagement; transportation; keepsake photo journal design, development, creation, and distribution.• Manage all aspects of support for a dozen high-profile executive meetings annually. Includes oversight of meeting calendar and scheduling with executive offices; distributing materials; booking facilities; partnering with technology team and vendors to ensure smooth operations; providing in-person assistance during meetings.• Provide research on family business topics to consulting team. Responsible for sourcing monthly, distributing electronically, and archiving in shared drive for future reference.• Provide maintenance and administration for executive website. Includes content and user profile management; software/hardware upgrades and moves; physical security protocols.• Team lead on supplemental safety training. Pursued personal and team development opportunity by partnering with corporate Security Team to provide formal training in Certified First Responder course.
