After 25 years as a real estate veteran, I've had the privilege of immersing myself in many facets of this exciting industry. As a Residential Appraiser I gained a great understanding of what constitutes “market value,” and how to analyze data. To challenge myself further, I became a Licensed Real Estate Agent. Like many real estate professionals, I saw great investment opportunities and was fortunate to acquire a few rental properties along the way. Aside from the many headaches, real estate investing taught me valuable time, finance, and people management skills. This was an excellent learning experience for me. During this time, I was also raising a family, volunteering in my community, and sitting on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity. When presented with the opportunity to join a real estate firm as their Listing Coordinator, I was eager to take on the challenge. Eventually this position grew to include handling all of the “short sale listings” where I became very well versed in digging deeper into contracts and hard-core negotiations. Also, patience. Lots of patience. When the market improved, and short sales became less common, I was able to focus my attention on a life-long goal to finish my degree, which I did in 2017. Currently, I enjoy the role of Contract Compliance Auditor. This position really plays to my strengths as it requires a great eye for detail, and a strong emphasis on ethics, integrity, and the law. I adapt well to change; I love learning; and am always willing to take on a new challenge.
