I entered private practice as an appellate specialist following a judicial clerkship in the Michigan Court of Appeals with the Hon. Michael J. Kelly. For over three decades, I served as lead counsel in hundreds of appeals at both the state and federal levels, involving a wide range of practice areas, including product liability, medical malpractice, insurance coverage, Daubert, civil rights discrimination, and professional liability. In the early 1990s, I developed a particular interest in insurance coverage law and now devote a significant part of my practice to preparing coverage opinions and litigating declaratory judgment actions.I was instrumental in forming the Appellate Practice Section of the Michigan State Bar and served as its Founding Chair in 1995. Twelve years later, I assisted with the formation of the Insurance and Indemnity Law Section of the Michigan State Bar.
