I'm passionate about making a positive impact on my community and the world. NDMVA's commitment to education, community building, and opportunity aligns perfectly with my values.I'll be working closely with local teams and AmeriCorps members in Cleveland to provide support, training, and mentorship. I'm excited to contribute to the growth and success of our programs and help create meaningful service experiences. I have a background in national service roles, including those listed below:Program Manager for AmeriCorps VISTA with AxessPointe Community Health Centers (formerly Family & Community Services, Inc.) From August 2015 to December 2016, I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the White House Council's Strong Cities, Strong Communities (SC2) Initiative. Following a Promise Neighborhood model, the SC2 team coordinated more than 50 community partners - residents, parents, educators, businesses, organizations, faith institutions, and other stakeholders - to work together on stabilizing and revitalizing the Taft School Area on the south side of Youngstown, Ohio. I was also a part time instructor for 20 years, and I taught a variety of undergraduate, humanities-based courses at Youngstown State University. I also have tutoring, TESOL, grant writing, and editing experience. I am active in my community, volunteering for a number of neighborhood and social service organizations.
