Managed multiple demands, overlapping schedules, and tight deadlines to meet various plant production deadlines.• Utilized Honda packaging management software (NAPS, PDTS) to assist in updating, maintaining, and managing data for all projects.• Met multiple ongoing project deadlines with model project leaders by analyzing packaging requirements and coordinating with suppliers on expectations. Maintained constant lines of communication as the engineer with the sole point of contact between suppliers and project leaders.• Collaborated with fellow project engineers at other plants to discuss packaging design options that could be utilized across plants, suppliers, and models to increase efficiency, maintain safety, and minimize costs.• Scheduled and ran concept meetings with Packaging Development Team (PDT) to design most cost effective packaging that would maximize part protection and be user friendly.• Worked directly with fabricators to develop packaging prototypes that met my preliminary design concepts. Engineering Staff, Vehicle Quality Department (Vqd)

Marysville Auto Plant (Map)

• Investigated and corrected errors traced to Metrology department by unpacking analysis and tracking raw data back to supplier. Determined supplier data was being misinterpreted by Metrology, which caused improper fit, faulty analysis, and labeling errors. Developed and implemented a solution so Metrology and supplier could more clearly transmit and better understand data, which resolved the issues and prevented future errors.• Analyzed parts and body situations with Catia and Polyworks and resolved issues with part swaps, template checks, and other methods of defect analysis to determine root causes of quality issues. I provided feedback to responsible departments to get results, overcame resistance when needed, and tracked problem items.• Worked with supplier to set correct equipment check parameters to guarantee that only parts within tolerance were being shipped.• Successfully implemented new tool (designed from actual CAD data and printed on 3D printer) for Assembly and Weld Groups to verify trunk fit and side panel fit to rear glass.• Co-managed vehicle test lab where I developed several procedures to streamline testing.• Implemented new procedure for Vehicle Weight Setting process for Marysville Auto Plant (MAP) to guarantee correct weight settings of vehicles to prevent risk of improper measurements and classifying vehicles improperly.• Designed and implemented modified equipment with machine shop to use in test lab to reduce competitive motion injury risks.• Investigated best uses for current NCA equipment, which was to be upgraded in several years. Determined how outdated equipment could still be used effectively and combined/linked several different settings to reduce duplication with a software update saving several hundred man-hours of testing. This also eliminated the potential for error by combining settings and streamlining the process.• Represented department in many VQD company audits, all with successful outcomes.

Quality Control Engineer, Project Management Engineer

Industrial Welding And Engineering

Lewis Center, Oh

IWE manufactures metal, plastic and other products from existing designs or by making new custom designs. As Quality Control Engineer, I managed contracts awarded to the company from competitive bidding. My duties included all aspects of managing the job from successful bid to final delivery, including the following: review new contracts and drawings for exceptions, special manufacturing or design issues, quality concerns, and delivery deadlines. For new jobs, if there were substandard drawings, then I helped create new internal 3D drawings using CATIA. I set up internal files and quality inspection sheets and interacted with manufacturing personnel on any special design or contract issues that affected the quality of the final product. I also reviewed and checked internal 3D models and computer designs for consistency with the written contract and drawings from the customer and inspected products after production for compliance with all contract requirements, with special focus on quality control and government compliance. I completed quality sheets for the customer and government compliance, as needed, and met and worked with government inspectors and auditors, as needed, to resolve all quality issues from start to finish. I also periodically inspected, adjusted, and calibrated all shop tools and equipment.

Associate Manufacturing Engineer, Engineer Co-Op

Heidelberg Web

Dayton, Oh

- Associate Manufacturing Engineer, September 1996 – March 2000Heidelberg Web manufactured bindery equipment, which are large, complex machines with many components that all work together to turn printed papers into books, magazines, and newspapers. As Associate Manufacturing Engineer, I was responsible for identifying manufacturing issues on the assembly floor and working with the engineering department to resolve them. Engineering updates and designs did not always translate completely for assembly, and I was the liaison between the assemblers trying to fix the issues and the engineers responsible for updating the designs and drawings. Specifically, I documented all issues from assembly, communicated the issues to engineering, processed change order requests, and once approved, I updated the CAD designs for engineering and confirmed with assembly that the revised designs resolved the issue, and documented the resolution for the company.- Engineer Co-op, June 1996 – September 1996Over that summer, I learned about the company’s CAD system, its products and customers, and the overall manufacturing and engineering processes. I also worked directly with the machine assemblers documenting and investing manufacturing issues on the assembly floor. The success of my co-op led directly to the company hiring me as an Associate Manufacturing Engineer.
