I was brought up in a family business starting in 1969. Working experience in commercial printing starting from the bottom up. Learned telecommunications between ourselves and investment companies in the early 1970s becoming amongst the first to cooperate telecommunicated information with software specifically written programs into typesetting for the printing of time-sensitive financial journalism on a weekly basis, with an overnight turnaround. Handled a number of these publications, as well as monthly international journalism. Took over running the company in the 80s, coming up through the production line from the bindery, to art production, to typesetting, layout, and design.The company was founded in Massachusetts, home to many colleges and preparatory schools. Handled all quotations with all clients, and bidding processes, even based on year-long contracts. Handled all sales, and managed all personnel. Handled all inter-client relations and employee relations.Responsibilities included all accounting, receivables, payables, payroll, and handling of 401 K for all employees.Long involvement with doing charitable work in health fields and religious fields, as well as other charities of clients.Sold company in 1996 in one week and stayed on for two years at the new owner's request to acclimate him to the industry, and give back up when necessary. Left in 1998 to care for my recently widowed mother until she passed away in 2003.
